Variety – The Children’s Charity is seeking a full time Grant Writer.
Variety – The Children’s Charity (Variety) is seeking an experienced and creative proposal writer who will be responsible for identifying, reviewing, and responding to relevant requests for proposals, invitations for bids, and other similar requests. Variety is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to build independence and self-confidence in children and youth with disabilities by engaging them in recreational, social, and educational enrichment activities, while connecting families to resources.
Duties
Research and identify government and private funding prospects.
Generate proposals and supporting documents in response to solicitations.
Conceptualize, develop and implement proposal requests.
Work with Chief Financial Officer and program staff to gather information for proposals and reports.
In conjunction with Chief Financial Officer, prepare budgets and expenditures for program reports.
Maintain reporting calendar; ensure reports are submitted in a timely manner.
Conduct administrative follow-up with funders.
Prepare key correspondence with funders and potential funders.
Maintain all hard copies and electronic grant files.
Perform other functions as needed.
Requirements
Minimum of a B.A. in a relevant field (Graduate degree preferred).
At least 3 years work experience with grant writing and reporting for government and foundation grants.
Proven track in writing successful grant proposals that are funded.
Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail; ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong writer with clear and concise style; experience writing about health/medical conditions.
Superior grammar, editorial and proofreading ability; high level of attention to detail.
Computer proficiency and strong skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Power Point and Excel.
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team and individually.
