Grant Opportunity Available Through The Giving Circle of The Philadelphia Chapter of The Transition Network
The Giving Circle of the Philadelphia Chapter of The Transition Network — a Donor Advised Fund of The Philadelphia Foundation — is pleased to announce that it is now accepting grant applications from organizations in the following two areas:
- Nonprofits offering a program to increase the reading ability of young children
- Nonprofits offering a program to address the needs of young people moving from foster care to college
A total of up to $10,000 will be awarded. The Circle will determine based on the applications received whether that amount will be made as one or two awards.
The Transition Network (TTN) is a national organization of professional women aged 50 and above who seek to continue a life of learning, engagement and leadership in the world.
Applicant organizations must be located in the Greater Philadelphia area, which includes Southeastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey. They must have a 501c3 public charity exempt status from the IRS.
Criteria for selection include an innovative approach and the project’s feasibility. Consideration will also be given to how the program might include volunteers.
Deadline: No later than 5 p.m. Wed., May 1, 2013.
