Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation invites applications from programs that provide student scholarships
The Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation is a private family foundation in the greater Fort Lauderdale, Florida, region that serves nonprofits in Broward, Palm Beach, and Miami-Dade counties and national organizations.
Through its Scholarship Program, the foundation supports programs that provide scholarships for underserved students, including the homeless, youth aging out of foster care, low-income, individuals with disabilities, etc. The foundation is interested in investing in programs that help students earn a four-year degree and provide wrap-around support for the students as they matriculate through school. Organizations that support certifications and vocational degrees will be reviewed, but those that provide additional support for students to complete a bachelor’s degree will be prioritized.
The program must consist of wrap-around support that includes emergency assistance, consistent communication with scholarship recipients (Chatbot, text message, check-ins, etc.), work with the college/university to help ensure that scholarship funding is not displaced by the college or university partners; serve individuals from underserved communities including low-income, former foster care, homeless, indigenous, etc; and funding will support the program and/or efforts to scale the program to increase the number of individuals served and/or to assist the organization in providing more services to their clients.
Direct service organizations, community foundations, schools, and educational organizations are eligible to apply.
Letters of inquiry are due October 6, 2023, with an interview process to be held October 23, 2023, through October 27, 2023, and funding decisions to be announced in November 2023.
For complete program guidelines and application instructions, see the Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation website.
Deadline: October 6, 2023 (Letters of Inquiry)
