The Community, School, College Partnership (CSCP) Project at Swarthmore College is currently seeking one or two graduate-level students to serve as research assistants on the Cultivating Community Together Study (CCT) between February 2022 and June 2023. Under the direction of Dr. Edwin Mayorga, CCT is a qualitative and historical study of community and school partnerships in Philadelphia schools past and present. We are developing and using a queer, intersectional abolitionist framework to examine various models of community and school partnerships and the history of Black and other POC-led education movements in Philadelphia with the intention of strengthening the educational experiences for all students, families and educators in Philadelphia today, and into the future.
Essential Responsibilities:
Graduate Research Assistants would support archival research and qualitative, community-based research at one of three research school+community sites.
The typical duties will include:
- Co-leading site-based research teams
- Meeting with site-based partners
- Expanding literature review
- Ethnographic and historical data collection
- Qualitative data analysis & survey data analysis
- Co-authoring and co-presenting final reports & academic papers
