Graduate Course in Service-Learning
Posted by on August 20, 2004
The purpose of this email is to let you know (and ask you to let others know) that I’m teaching my graduate service learning course again this coming semester. I am looking for a few more students … and I know you have access to some good ones! Please spread the word.
The course is Urban Education 554, Service Learning and Community Development in Urban Settings, and it meets on Monday evenings (5-7:30). Yes, the first class meeting is in one week. The course reference number is 089524. Non Temple students can enroll through the Continuing Education Office, as non-matriculated students. Their phone number is 215-204-2500.
The course includes readings related to service learning and requires a service learning project in an area of interest to the students. Students can use their own settings (for instance, their classroom or school if they’re teachers) and either do an actual project in that context, or reflect on how the readings enhance their understanding of what they do.
Best regards,
Novella Keith
