GQ Magazine’s the Gentlemen’s Fund Launches Better Men Better World Search for Community Volunteers
Deadline: July 6, 2011
The Gentlemen’s Fund, a philanthropic program of men’s magazine GQ and watch company Movado Group, have announced the fourth annual Better Men Better World Search to identify and recognize men who are striving for the betterment of society through charitable work, volunteerism, and community involvement.
Nominations may be made by a man’s friend, family member, a community activist — anyone familiar with the nominee’s work to improve his community and the world. Self-nominations are also accepted. Nominators and nominees must be legal residents of the fifty Unites States and District of Columbia and be at least 18 years old.
Nominations may consist of a short video or essay about the nominee. The competition’s judging panel will determine five finalists and the public will then vote online to determine the winner.
A grant of $10,000 will be donated to an accredited 501(c)(3) charity of the winner’s choice. The winner (and a guest) will also receive a trip to New York City, where he will be honored at the Gentlemen’s Ball. Grants of $2,500 each will be donated to the four finalists’ charities of choice. Finalists (and guests) will also receive a trip to New York City to attend the Gentlemen’s Ball.
Visit the Gentlemen’s Fund Web site for complete program guidelines and nomination procedures.
