GPUAC Foreclosure Prevention Training
As the unemployment rate rises, more homeowners – with decent financial histories – face foreclosure. The challenge of saving one’s home from foreclosure or losing one’s home is very stressful and traumatic. Additionally, threat of losing their home is compounded by other social and financial problems people may have.
To reach a larger population, the Greater Philadelphia Urban Affairs Coalition is offering a free training program on Foreclosure Prevention. This program is designed specifically for social workers, pastors and human resource professionals in the five-county Philadelphia area on how to be most helpful to your clients who are struggling with this issue.
Please join us Tuesday, December 8th from 9:30-11:30 at 1207 Chestnut on the 4th Floor for this opportunity. Light breakfast will be served. The training is open so bring your co-workers if they’re interested in this! Please click here to register online
At the training you will learn:
* How to use a copy of the Coalition’s Foreclosure Prevention Resource Guide. The guide contains up-to-date foreclosure prevention information relevant to the Philadelphia five-county region
* How to explain the foreclosure process to your clients direct them to the appropriate resource
* How to counsel your clients through the emotional trauma of foreclosure.
Registration will close Friday December 4th. If you have any questions or problems registering, please contact Rachel Moore by telephone at 215-851-1847 or via e-mail at rmoore@gpuac.org. We look forward to seeing you!
