Governance or Gatekeeping: Art Leadership in Philadelphia – Apr 12

Over 500 nonprofit arts and culture organizations participated in the research behind the 2024 report from the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance. They estimate the total economic impact of the region’s arts and culture nonprofits at $3.3 billion. Though in total, arts, culture and humanities organizations in the Philadelphia metro area, which includes the cities of Philadelphia, Wilmington and Camden, have nearly 3,000 individual organizations, according to Cause IQ.
What issues do you face as an organization? As an arts leader? In what ways does your organization step up to support others? In what ways can the city of Philadelphia step up to help artists? What advice would you give to up-and-coming artists trying to start their own organizations? How has funding impacted you and your organization in recent years?
