Announcing the US$1,000 Global Youth In Action Awards
Global Youth Action Network (GYAN) invites applications for the 2004 Global Youth In Action Awards! These 1,000USD awards are intended to recognize and support positive youth action in commnunities around the world. With a grant from the Shei’rah Foundation, this year’s awards program particularly seek to recognize youth-initiated projects that take a new approach to problem-solving. Albert Einstein stated that today’s problems cannot be solved with the same thinking that created them, and we want to highlight innovative ways that youth are addressing issues in their community. Awards are given to projects initiated by youth, and preference is given to projects less than two years old and initiated by one or more youth under the age of 25 at the time of the launch. Projects must be submitted by the youth initiator and have already created measurable results in their community to qualify. Deadline is July 1, 2004.
