About Capture Greatness!
Capture Greatness! started as the “Scholarship Club,” in the Student Success Center of Germantown High School. When the School Reform Commission voted to close Germantown High School, Capture Greatness’ founder, Melissa Rowe, refused to be “let-go” . With a passion for her students and her work, she created scholarship writing workshops and volunteered as a coach, for former G-Town students who had been shuffled around the City.
Since the inception of Capture Greatness!, students who received writing coaching and support have secured over $1 Million in Scholarships, collectively. Four students have won the Gates Millennium Scholarship (a full-ride through graduate/medical school), full and partial tuition scholarships to local universities, and numerous scholarships from local foundations and organizations.
