Gender Justice Fund Grants for Community Organizing, Applications due May 31
Posted by Bread & Roses Community Fund on May 7, 2019
Last year, participants in the 2018 Gender Justice Giving Project raised money from their friends and family to make $140,000 in grants to grassroots groups mobilizing women, girls, transgender, and/or gender non-conforming people to make real change. I’m delighted to announce that we are making another round of grants in the Gender Justice Fund! Applications are due May 31.
Do you know a grassroots group in the 5-county Philadelphia region that could use a $10,000 grant to support their work advancing justice for women, girls, transgender, and/or gender non-conforming people? We want to support organized communities that are confronting issues like reproductive justice, gender-based violence, worker’s rights, mass incarceration and police violence, and equal access to healthcare, education, and affordable housing.
We have another amazing group of people in the Gender Justice Giving Project this year. As in every Giving Project, the eighteen participants in the 2019 Gender Justice Giving Project have committed to six months of community building, political education, giving, fundraising, and grantmaking. Their leadership makes this Fund possible.
The deadline to apply for a grant from the Gender Justice Fund is Friday, May 31. If your group is considering applying, I encourage you to attend an information session at Leeway Foundation’s community room in Suite 832 at 1315 Walnut Street on Thursday, May 16 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Please RSVP here.
