The Greensgrow Farms garden center in Kensington is the cornerstone location of Greensgrow. It is the heart of our organization and the sustained success of the business and the site is critical to the vitality of the enterprise as a whole. The Garden Center Manager ensures the health of vendor and neighbor relations, and is constantly seeking out new opportunities for growth and community partnerships. The ideal candidate will be extremely customer-oriented, able to build the Greensgrow Farms garden center to reflect the needs and desires of the local community, and participate in shaping strategic direction for the organization in pursuit of its mission and vision.

This person will have overall responsibility for the management and success of the garden center business and staff members and will be a leader for the team and in the broader organization. With support from Greensgrow’s administrative team, this position is responsible for setting and adhering to business goals and budgets, hiring and training staff, managing inventory, and attending to the physical infrastructure of the farm in addition to supporting other Greensgrow programs and activities.

This job is the perfect opportunity for an entrepreneurial person to run a small business, with the support and guidance of a larger organization. As a busy and multi-faceted organization successful individuals must be highly driven and well organized in order to succeed. Tasks and working hours outside of the “normal”, especially weekends, are often required and change seasonally.

This is a full-time, salaried position and reports to the Executive Director.
