Funding Available for Pennsylvania Organizations Serving Blind and Visually Impaired People
Deadline: August 30, 2004
The Verizon Foundation (<a href="http://www.verizon.com/foundation/">http://www.verizon.com/foundation/</a>), the philanthropic arm of telecommunications giant Verizon Communications, invites nonprofit organizations in Pennsylvania serving blind and visually impaired people to compete for $150,000 in grants.
The grants, ranging from $10,000 to $25,000, will target work force, e-literacy, and/or community development and include a technology component.
Verizon is seeking proposals that support programs which assist people with special needs in acquiring computer skills or that support welfare-to-work and school-to-work training programs and Web-based literacy programs.
To qualify for funding, applicants must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a valid IRS tax ID.
Applications must be submitted through the Verizon Foundation Web site. See the site for complete funding guidelines and application procedures.
