How can we tailor our approach to working with families and children to foster healing and minimize re-traumatization? How can we take what we know about trauma theory and operationalize it in our daily interactions and programmatic approaches? During this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to apply an understanding of trauma to their work as individuals, teams, and organizations.
Topics will include:
• Traditional versus Trauma-Informed Approaches
• Reducing Triggers and Preventing Re-traumatization
• Responding to Crises and Building Skills
• Mitigating the Impact of Vicarious Trauma on Individuals and Teams
Recommended Audiences:
• Agencies seeking to incorporate evidence-based practices into their programs
• Case managers, program directors, clinicians, supervisors, and peer specialists
• Educators and other school personnel
• Health, behavioral health, and social service practitioners of all disciplines who are serving children and families
Continuing Education Credits:
This workshop has been approved for Continuing Education Credit (CEUs) from the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), NAADAC (The Association of Addiction Professionals), and the National Board of Certified Counselors.
