FROM THE INNER CITY TO THE IVY LEAGUE
CEDRIC JENNINGS: MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER
(sponsored by Princeton Review)
The School District of Philadelphia’s Office of Parent Support Programs is pleased to present an opportunity for parents, teachers, administrators and students to hear Cedric Jennings, a sensational, motivational speaker. Cedric’s account of his struggle from an inner-city Washington, D.C. high school to an Ivy League college will implant a memory that will continue to inspire audiences long after his presentation.
Cedric’s story grew out of a series of articles that Ron Suskind wrote for the Wall Street Journal. The series won a Pulitzer Prize for feature reporting. The articles are a gripping read but the book, A Hope in the Unseen: An American Odyssey from the Inner City to the Ivy League is even better. Copies of the book will be available.
Please register staff, parents and students from your program for this unforgettable presentation. Registrations should be received ASAP. Registrations will be reserved on a first come first serve basis. Refreshments will be served both days. Please contact 215-299-7550 to register and/or if you have any questions.
