Free Virtual Writing Support — Enroll your grade 6-12 student in Write Away’s Digital Literacy Mentoring Program
Write Away is on a mission to close the digital divide by creating opportunities for learners of all ages to use digital tools for writing and expression. Founded by educators, Write Away understands the importance of digital literacy, human connection, mentorship, and enrichment opportunities to students’ educational journey.
Write Away’s Digital Literacy Mentorship program pairs students in grades 6-12 with a college student mentor who meets with them for 18 virtual 1-hour sessions (2-3 meetings per week for 6 to 9 weeks). Mentors coach and guide their mentees through a series of writing tasks aimed to promote digital literacy, provide opportunities for self-expression, and foster a love for writing.
Write Away is currently recruiting Digital Literacy Program Mentees (students in grades 6-12 at Title 1 schools). The online application to be a Mentee in the Winter 2021 Digital Literacy Program is currently open. Please note that space is limited. The priority application deadline is December 31st, though applications will continue to be accepted on a rolling basis.
