Free Trees for Philly homeowners

Property owners can receive free trees from city
In 2012, the TreePhilly program will be giving away 4,000 trees to property owners for their homes and also to larger properties, including senior housing facilities and senior centers.
Adding greenery to the City provides clean air and shade, reduces flooding, and makes the community more beautiful. Planting must be done on private property; not in the sidewalk or in front of the property. Each single family residence may receive two trees, and larger properties may receive up to five. Requests must be received by September 30 here, and pickup events will be held in October.
Along with trees, recipients will meet horticulture experts who will help with proper selection, watch a planting demo and receive planting/care info. For more information, call Erica Smith Fichman at 215-683-0217 or email her at erica.smith@phila.gov.
