Free, Online Community Health Worker (CHW) Educational Training

What is a Community Health Worker (CHW)?
A CHW is a trusted community member or healthcare worker who helps individuals navigate healthcare and social services. To become a certified CHW (CCHW), individuals must complete a 75-hour educational training program and one year of paid or volunteer experience. This partnership provides the state-recognized training required by the PA Certification Board.
Program Details:
- Delivery: Online asynchronous modules and 6 in-person sessions, transportation provided
- Duration: 14 weeks | 75 total educational training hours. Individuals will also obtain Mental Health
- First Aid & CPR certifications and learn how to implement mindfulness practices into their work.
- This program is offered by West Chester University College of Health Sciences in partnership with Main Line Health System
Participant Benefits:
Gain transferable skills to enhance job mobility, receive a $500 honorarium upon successful completion of the program, and become eligible for the CHW certification after completing one year of qualifying experience, either in your current role or within the next five years.
