Annual Fundraiser Celebrating 27 Years of Effective and Innovative Community-based Programs & Initiatives
Located at the African American United Fund (AAUF) Bldg., The Institute, now in its 27th year, continues to offer specialized community-based education courses, seminars and workshops, and has the longest-running public rites-of-passage initiatives in the region, effective community outreach & development programs, expert consulting & tutoring, and a one-of-a-kind professional comic book industry workshop, among others.
Join us on Saturday, August 10, 2013, for the 27th Annual Fundraiser and an evening of music, poetry, tasty food and more as The Institute acknowledges and honors several dynamic people, among them: Mr. Oliver Adams who has been a steadfast advocate for the Afro-American community (people and culture) for over 40 years. Mr. Oliver follows a great tradition as he advocates for self-determination through cultural and historical awareness and community-building. Father, grandfather, business man and community advocate whose impact in Philadelphia is far-reaching…; Mr. Junious Stanton, Cheyney University alumnus, educator, former WHAT Radio and Internet show host and producer, freelance writer, retired juvenile probation officer, current Harambee Radio & Television Network host, and so much more…. His work over the past 30 years demonstrates as much. His weekly column in the Philadelphia SCOOP offers a refreshing and candid perspective on current events; and Mr. Bob Davis who combines over 20 years of experience as a world-class Information Technology Executive with 3 different Fortune 500 companies with a passion for music, culture and global concerns. He is an on-line communications pioneer that has created some of the most important communications and content platforms on the Internet. Mr. Davis co-founded the award-winning Soul-Patrol.com family of Internet resources.
