“. . . it is the few people like Nick who are able to make the world a better place, who sacrifice entirely of themselves to help others. It is di cult to think of anyone else who has his drive to build and improve society. is trait of Nick has inspired many, and though he is no longer with us, his spirit will be carried by the many people all over the world he touched.”
— Mark Zwald
“I’m not sure what my ‘job’ as a singer/songwriter is supposed to be sometimes, but it seems to me that it should be to process some of what’s going on in this world and turn it into music.”
— Peter Katz
Peter Katz, Canadian songwriter and musician will perform a concert featuring the song, “Forgiveness” written by Katz to honor Michael Berg, father of Nicholas, who refused to perpetuate hate by celebrating the capture and killing of his son Nick’s killer in 2006. Michael Berg will be here to share his story which inspired the song. The event aims to use music and stories to capture and question, inspire and challenge our understanding of forgiveness in the face of unspeakable violence and personal harm and hurt.
