Posted by Pulitzer Center on March 23, 2021
We’re thrilled to announce that the 2021 Fighting Words Poetry Contest is now open! We invite all K-12 students in the U.S. and internationally to explore current events, amplify underreported stories, and make their voices heard through poetry. Winners will receive cash prizes and publication on the Pulitzer Center website. Check out last year’s winners and finalists here. Deadline: Saturday, May 15 at 11:59pm EDT.
Want to schedule a virtual poetry writing workshop for your students? Email us to schedule a workshop with the Pulitzer Center education team! If you would like to facilitate this workshop independently, find the lesson plan, writing templates, model poems, suggested stories for every grade level, and more here.
