Foundations of Gender in Sport – Mar 9
Posted by Philadelphia Youth Sports Collaborative on February 9, 2021
At the end of 2020, the Collaborative launched the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion education series. We had an incredible response and participation in our first 3 sessions, and hope you will join us for this upcoming program.
March 9, 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM – Foundations of Gender in Sport – Led by We Coach
This session will expand on participants’ general understanding of intellectual and developmental disabilities to support athlete-centered coaching and inclusive program implementation by sharing specific strategies for inclusion. The Special Olympics Unified Sports model, a program that promotes social inclusion through sports and competition opportunities by joining together people with and without disabilities on the same team – will be highlighted. Participants will also practice developing coaching strategies for inclusive sports activities by designing a practice plan.
