Invitation to Forum to Discuss Act 24
MIMIC (Men in Motion in the Community) would like to invite you to a public forum to discuss Act 24 with the community as well as many of your city and state lawmakers, and to develop a plan of action to respond to this new legislation.
The event will be held from 6-8 pm on Wednesday April 18th at West Kensington Ministry, located at 2140 N Hancock St. Philadelphia, PA 19122 (corner of Hancock and Susquehanna on the NorthWest corner of Norris Square).
Many of you are aware that the state legislature recently passed an amendment to the Pennsylvania School Code, this amendment establishes a lifetime ban from School District employment by any person who has ever been convicted of a broad range of offenses. There has been significant discussion on the subject (find links below) and this event is an opportunity to respond.

Act24 Op/Ed (Opinion/Editorial on Act 24)
At the event several people will share the impact Act 24 is having on them, lawmakers will share what they are doing in response to this amendment, and we will share ways that YOU can get involved.
If this legislation effects you, or someone you care about, please come. If this issue is one that your organization has been addressing or is looking to address, please come. Please share this invite with your networks throughout the city. If there are additional questions please contact us through our website http://MIMICPhilly.org, via email, [email protected], or by phone 267-414-6836.
