BETTING ON OUR FUTURE: The Social Impact of Slots in Philadelphia
Tuesday, October 11, 2005, 7:00 p.m.
Kate?s Place ? 1929 Sansom Street
Legalized slot-machine casinos are coming to Philadelphia. With them come promises of billions of dollars of new revenue pumped into the local economy. But will these new gambling venues also bring unwanted social problems: increased addictions, crime, poverty, homelessness?
This forum will feature national experts on gambling?s social impact as well as local officials. We will hear proposals for how the City can use gaming profits to constructively respond to potential social problems from the casinos and benefit the overall health of all our citizens.
More details will be coming shortly! Please spread the word. For more information, contact Will O?Brien, Special Projects Coordinator, at 215-232-7272 or [email protected].
Thanks.
