Forum on Socially Responsible Investing
Posted by on October 24, 2003
What: An informational panel presentation about “Socially Responsible Investing” or SRI.
Who: Intended primarly for college and university professional staff, but others are certainly welcome.
Why: Many of us in the PHENND Network are college and university professional staff, who value social change and positive community development. By virtue of our employment, we are also likely to have some type of retirement account (usually a 403b) which is invested. However, most of us don’t know much about how our values can impact that investment. This forum is meant to be a first step toward making those connections.
Join us as we hear from seasoned activists about how you can “do well by doing good.” Panelists will cover topics: socially reponsible investing basics, shareholder activism, and community development.
Judy Wicks, West Philadelphia entrepreneur and social activist, will be the opening speaker.
Date/Time: October 29, 2003, 6 PM
Location Steinberg Hall-Deitrich Hall, Room 351, University of Pennsylvania
To RSVP, contact Hillary Aisenstein at hillarya@pobox.upenn.edu or 215-573-2379.
