Foreclosure Prevention Resource Guide

More than 10,000 Homeowners Saved from Foreclosure over Last Eight Years
UAC’s Community & Economic Development (CED) Committee recently released its latest edition of the Foreclosure Prevention Resource Guide to help professionals and homeowners understand and prevent housing foreclosure.
In 2007, community leaders and bankers started to see troubling conditions arising from subprime mortgages. In response, CED formed a Foreclosure Prevention Task Force that led to a set of 14 recommendations to guide the City’s response to the emerging crisis, including the annual creation of this guide.
Nine years later, preventing foreclosure still remains a critical part of UAC’s work. With the help of this guide and the partnership forged between housing counseling agencies, the Division of Housing and Community Development, the courts and lenders, the City of Philadelphia’s Residential Mortgage Foreclosure Diversion Program celebrated a key milestone.
UAC would like to thank Santander Bank for a generous grant to produce this year’s guide which will help homeowners working to navigate the foreclosure process within Philadelphia and much of Southeastern Pennsylvania.
