Local Initiatives Support Corporation, Foot Locker Foundation invite applications for Foot Locker Foundation Community Empowerment Program

Foot Locker Foundation, Inc., and the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) have launched a fifth round of grants for the Foot Locker Foundation Community Empowerment Program, which funds nonprofit community organizations that connect youth to mentorship, education, career development, and health services.

The program offers two types of grants: 1) Grants ranging from $25,000 to $75,000 over one year to support current youth programming, create new programming, or extend existing programming; and 2) Grants ranging from $25,000 to $100,000 over one year in support of capital improvement projects that enhance the impact of youth programming.

Organizations must primarily serve youth in low-to-moderate income communities where support and opportunity are scarce; deliver programs and services to connect youth to mentorship, education, career development, and health services; have an organizational budget of $5 million or less; maintain at least one full-time staff person focused on youth programming; and engage local Foot Locker store team members in volunteer activities tied to the proposed program.

To be eligible, applicants must be tax-exempt as defined by section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and operate in low-to-moderate income communities within the following 14 cities: Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, New York City, Newark, Oakland, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Tampa, and Washington, D.C.

For complete program guidelines and application instructions, see the LISC website.
