Food Stamp Enrollment Volunteers Needed!

Help stamp out hunger in the city of Philadelphia! Become a Food Stamp Advocate!
The Greater Philadelphia Coalition Against Hunger needs your help now to reach out to low-income people who may be eligible for food stamps. We are recruiting and training volunteers who will engage in food stamp pre-screening and assist clients in filling out food stamp applications. This outreach will be done at food cupboards, soup kitchens, grocery stores, and community schools.
In just two training sessions, we can teach you how to collect information from a client and make a preliminary determination of eligibility. We’ll also equip you with the information necessary to assist the client in taking the next step toward applying for food stamps. Once trained, we will find a convenient and eager pre-screening site that will welcome you. Please contact us if you want more information about how to volunteer as a part of the work-study program or as an internship for a college-level course.
If you would like to join us, please contact Abby Youngblood at [email protected] or call 215-573-2379 to learn more and find out about upcoming training dates!
