WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
This FREE workshop introduces strategies for creating multicultural environments through interactive, experiential learning. Participants will identify and challenge “isms” in themselves, in others, and within organizations. This session stresses learning at both the personal/emotional level, as well as through cognitive information and opportunities for practicing new approaches.

Participants learn to recognize, understand, and appreciate their own cultures, as well as the cultures of others and how those differences and similarities impact race, class, age, sexual orientation, religion, physical ability, and language. The Food Project will also share the successes and challenges of its 15-year journey of building a multicultural community of youth and staff.

Workshop participants will learn strategies for:
? identifying personal prejudice and misinformation
? recognizing institutional racism and other forms of systemic discrimination
? changing dysfunctional interracial behavior
? resolving their current organizational challenges

A light breakfast and full lunch will be included on both days.
