DEADLINE NOTE
Grant applications must be formally requested by January 15, while the application deadline is February 3.
OBJECTIVES:
The program aims to end hunger and malnutrition by encouraging long-term, self-help solutions in the United States. Funding supports programs working to build community food security, improve individual and family self-reliance and create employment opportuntiies.
ELIGIBILITY
Nonprofit organizations may apply. Geographic areas currently served include the following regions: Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, New England, Northwest, West, and Southeast.
FUNDING
About $1.5 million total will be awarded. Grants typically range from $1,000 to $10,000, with an average grant of $5,000. The amount of money available to allocate in each local grant area is based on shopper donations in stores located in that geographic area.
