Flip the Script Before it Flips You

Wednesday nights, 6-10pm
November 11, November 18, December 2, December 9, December 16, 2015

Geared towards individuals seeking new facilitation skills, and an introduction to Theatre of the Oppressed techniques to improve your ability to effectively engage diversity issues, gain clearer understanding of social and personal challenges, then envision and rehearse just strategies to break the cycles of oppression in our lives.

No theatre experience necessary!

In this workshop, participants will:

  • Explore the scripts that we unconsciously play everyday and which prevent us from authentic interaction.
  • Learn Just Act’s unique way of processing these experiences that invites compassionate critical inquiry and enhances self and social learning.
  • Cultivate greater awareness of yourself, the roles you play, and the impact of choices made when in conflicts;
  • Practice hands-on storytelling, image-making and improvisation activities for strengthening communication, listening skills and fostering consensus.
  • Collectively imagine and rehearse practical strategies for transforming real-life situations and forging more equitable relationships and community interaction.
  • Network with others who have similar interests.
  • Work with a 25+ year veteran educator and facilitator of Theatre of the Oppressed.
