FinanciallyHers Workshop Series

OUT WITH THE OLD, IN WITH THE NEW
The Women’s Financial Education Program at CCCS has a new name – FinanciallyHers – and a new attitude
As the year begins to wind down, it is easy to get swept up in old spending habits that accompany the holiday season. At Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Delaware Valley (CCCS), the Women’s Financial Education Program is going against the grain. With a new name and new classes, FinanciallyHers is urging its participants to form new habits.
A combination of educational workshops and one-on-one financial counseling, FinanciallyHers is designed with women in mind. On top of the new identity, the program has created new workshops to help build money wise women. There are three new series that aim to help women during what can be vulnerable times in their lives – being single, having an uncertain job future, and preparing for retirement. Completely free of cost, these workshops provide practical financial information in a supportive environment for all of its participants.
“These workshops are designed to foster open and honest communication and to provide real life solutions. We specifically conduct workshops in different community locations to ensure that women can take advantage of them in their own neighborhoods,” says Kim Cooper, Director of the Women’s Financial Education Program. By meeting over several weeks, the program provides consistent encouragement that helps participants stay on track with their goals.
