FINANCIAL EDUCATION THAT’S EASY TO DIGEST

CCCS and our FinanciallyHers® program team up for a second round of Lunch ‘N’ Learn workshops

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could begin to take control of your money and start planning for a brighter financial future—all during your lunch break? Now, you can.  Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Delaware Valley (CCCS) and our FinanciallyHers program are excited to announce that we’re bringing back our Lunch ‘N’ Learn series for another round of workshops.

Starting November 1st, three workshops will be held:

– What Will Your Retirement Look Like? – Tuesday, 11/1
– Your Worth is Worth Protecting: Learn the Basics of Insurance – Tuesday, 11/8
– Estate Planning: What You Need to Know – Tuesday, 11/15

The workshops will be held at CCCS’ main office on Walnut Street during the lunch hour from 12:15pm to 1:00pm. They are free to anyone who registers and light refreshments will be provided.

Our second Lunch ‘N’ Learn series is an especially exciting event; all three workshops are new topics and are being taught by two professional volunteer educators—Sharon Bonnem and Shauna Hopkins. Ms. Bonnem is a Certified Financial Planner and board member of the Philadelphia chapter of the Financial Planning Association. Ms. Hopkins is a member of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce and an owner/agent at State Farm Insurance in West Philadelphia.

“We were so happy with the success of our first Lunch ‘N’ Learn series and we’re thrilled to be presenting three new workshops,” says Joy McManus, Program Manager for FinanciallyHers. “These topics have a lot a lot of value for women and I know they will leave our office feeling more empowered with their finances.”

What Will Your Retirement Look Like? educates women on the available options that will allow them to retire comfortably, including IRAs, 401Ks and other investments. In an age where the future of social security is uncertain, this information couldn’t come at a better time. Ms. Bonnem will be teaching this workshop.

Our second workshop, Your Worth is Worth Protecting: Learn the Basic of Insurance looks at why it’s so important to have insurance. “Part of our mission as an agency is to help people protect the most important assets in their lives, so we’re proud to be presenting this topic,” notes McManus. Ms. Hopkins will be teaching this workshop.

Estate Planning: What You Need to Know discusses how to make sure your family is taken care of and the four documents you must have. Not everyone wants to talk about this topic, but you’ll want to make sure that you’re final decisions don’t become someone else’s. Ms. Bonnem will be teaching this workshop.

So take a break from work, sit back and make your lunch break work for you! Seating is limited, so we’re asking attendees to please register in advance.

The workshops will be held at our main office:

1608 Walnut Street, 10th Floor
Philadelphia, PA 19103

Workshops will begin promptly at 12:15 pm and end at 1:00 pm. Light refreshments will be provided. Any questions about the Lunch ‘N’ Learn series can be directed to Adrienne Webb at [email protected] or (215) 563-5665 x 3354.
