Posted on: May 21, 2013

SUMMARY

The Financial Empowerment Centers are part of a national effort to improve the financial stability of Philadelphia’s households by integrating high-quality, one-on-one financial education and counseling into existing public and non-profit programs in order to achieve multiple outcomes for clients.

The Financial Counselor/Team Lead delivers options and recommendations to a client after a thorough review of the client’s current and future financial circumstances, which may include debt, credit, asset, and banking issues. Counseling responsibilities include documenting all recommendations in an individualized action plan and, through effective communications, helping each client understand the role he or she plays in the success of the plan. As one of two team leads, the counselor/team leader will oversee the operations of the Financial Empowerment Center office at one “hub” and two satellite offices and be responsible for the administrative requirements of the respective office sites. In this capacity, the team lead will manage the day-to-day functions of the counseling staff at the assigned sites. This oversight will include generating, reviewing, and submitting reports, ensuring data integrity and work quality of the assigned counseling staff, following up with clients, both external and internal, and monitoring the ongoing training of counseling staff. Each Counselor/Team Lead will be located in one of the two Financial Empowerment Center hubs in the city of Philadelphia.
