The Pew Charitable Trusts (PCT), an independent nonprofit, is driven by the power of knowledge to solve today’s most challenging problems. The Finance department of PCT is comprised of four units: Accounting, Agenda and Finance Services, Program Financial Services and Trust Operated Projects (TOPs) Finance. The senior specialist, TOPs Finance will be part of the TOPs Finance unit and will report to the manager, TOPs Finance. TOPs Finance’s mission is to provide accurate and timely financial information, ensure compliance with adopted policies and procedures and to provide a high level of customer service to management, staff and vendors.
This position will assist the manager, TOPs Finance with overseeing TOPs Finance staff in regards to budgeting, reporting and financial analysis of TOPs. The senior specialist will work closely with each TOPs specialist; assist them in managing and tracking TOPs budgets approved by the Board; continue to streamline and create new TOPs reports that can assist with decision making; and help to implement financial reporting and analysis as well as procedures that result in efficient processes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong IT, analytical, project management, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
The successful candidate will have five or more years of finance related experience in nonprofit, government and/or for profit environments. Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance is required but MBA preferred. Management experience is a plus. Strong systems skills required including experience working with accounting software packages (Navision preferred) and Excel.
This position is based in Pew’s Philadelphia, PA office, with travel anticipated between Philadelphia, PA and Washington, D.C.
