SUMMARY: Based in the Oxford Circle neighborhood of Philadelphia, PA, the Oxford Circle Christian Community Development Association (OCCCDA) is seeking a Finance Director. The mission of OCCCDA is “to extend healing and hope in the Oxford Circle community, believing that God’s purpose of reconciling all people to Jesus leads us to minister on spiritual, physical, social & economic levels.” The Incumbent is responsible to work closely with the Executive Director to ensure financial viability and compliance for all business under the umbrella of OCCCDA. The position is 25 hours per week. Salary is commensurate with experience with a range of $30,000 – 32,500 plus benefits.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
A commitment to the Oxford Circle community and to the holistic vision of the OCCCDA.
Experience in accounting and finance principles and best practices as well as knowledge of internal controls.
Proficiency in Microsoft Works and Sage 50 (financial management) software.
Ability to manage staff and contracts in areas of responsibility.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Demonstrated management and organizational skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or related field plus 2+ years experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
FINANCE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The incumbent’s responsibility is to manage the fiscal affairs of OCCCDA. They are responsible for managing billing and accounts both for program and property related expenses.
Other tasks assigned to finance manager are:
Organizational Audit – Gather information as requested by external auditors and report back to the Executive Director and the Board. Implement recommendations from auditors.
Payroll – Collect information for payroll and to submit to payroll management 5 business days prior to the end of the month. Also as a part of completing payroll, all benefit time used is tracked and recorded on a monthly basis.
Accounts Payable – Submit all payment remissions and maintain payment records in account ledger and ensure that checks are cut in a timely fashion (generally within 1 week of receipt).
Accounts Receivable – Ensure that all payments are being remitted in a timely fashion – this includes payments from the Pa Department of Education, payments from Tenants, and any other sources of payment (generally within 1 week of receipt).
Maintain software and hard copy records and perform financial transactions as needed. Provide monthly financial reports to Executive Director and Board Treasurer (by 15th of the following month).
Maintain reconciliation between bank account statements and accounting software system (Peachtree) (generally on a weekly basis). Provide bank account statements for review with financial statements to Executive Director on a monthly basis to ensure internal controls/compliance.
Review insurance policies (property, liability, workers comp) to ensure they are current and review/rebid as necessary. Also collect and maintain tenant insurance documentation (property).
Financial Leadership – Interact with the Board of Directors and other leaders of the Oxford Circle CCDA to plan for and project financial analysis for current and prospective programs. Provide up to date and accurate financial reports to the Board of Directors, Finance Committee, and Property Team for scheduled meetings.
GENERAL OFFICE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent’s responsibility is to oversee purchasing for OCCCDA staff and property as needed.
Other tasks assigned are:
Maintain close contact with Executive Director and attend regular staff meetings.
Submit hiring paperwork to payroll management provider as needed. Work with Executive Director and Program Director to maintain personnel files and ensure audit compliance.
Work with consultant and office manager to ensure that phones/internet, computers and printers are functioning at an efficient level and review bids for services as needed.
