In 1999, after a quarter century of struggle, textile workers in Kannapolis, North Carolina won the single largest industrial union victory in the history of the South. ?Where Do You Stand?? (dir. Alexandra Lescaze) traces the story and efforts of workers to cope with a rapidly changing social and economic climate. Told primarily through the voices of those active in the several attempts to organize the union, the film offers a portrait of American workers as they face the myriad challenges of the post-industrial age.
Discussion to follow with local organizations working on labor issues including Jobs with Justice, Juntos, and the Taxi Workers Alliance
