Film: United In Anger: History of ACT UP
Posted by ACT UP on April 6, 2015
As part of Scribe’s Producer’s Forum, I have been asked to introduce United In Anger a History of ACT UP by Jim Hubbard and On Strong Shoulders a collaborative documentary commissioned by Scribe to look at heroes and heroines in the struggle against HIV/AIDS in Philadelphia. In on Strong Shoulders, Twelve Philadelphia filmmakers look at “a day in the life of caregivers, advocates and activists” as part of the observance of World AIDS Day, in 1995. On Strong Shoulders has been rarely screened, so this is a great opportunity to see it on a large screen.
Screening and talk with the Director Jim Hubbard of United in Anger: A History of Act Up will follow the screening of the film.
Tuesday April 7th, at International House, 3701 Chestnut Street. Thanks and I hope to see you there.
