Film Screening & Conversation: Join or Die – Mar 21
Posted by University of Pennsylvania College of Liberal and Professional Studies on March 3, 2026
Philly was built by people who joined clubs. Watch a movie and talk about why you should join one too.
Join us for a free community screening of the Emmy-nominated documentary Join or Die followed by an IRL conversation with film Director Pete Davis and local civic leaders about how Philadelphia can fight disconnection and build civic life through clubs.
Based on the groundbreaking research of legendary social scientist Robert Putnam (Bowling Alone), Join or Die tells the story of America’s decades-long decline in community connection. Learn what makes democracy work and, most importantly, what we can do about it!
Date and Time: Saturday, March 21, 2:00-5:00 PM
Location: Philadelphia Ethical Society, 1906 Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia, PA 19103
