Millennial Catholic POWER, Live Free, POWER, and the Old St. Joseph’s Parish Young Adult Community, Adult Education Committee, and Social Justice Committee present a screening of 13th on Saturday, December 10th at 4 PM at Old St. Joseph’s Church (321 Willings Alley, Philadelphia). This powerful new documentary examines race in the United States criminal justice system. The title of the film refers to the Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, which outlawed slavery (unless as punishment for a crime). Panel discussion to follow the film regarding the problem of mass incarceration in Philadelphia and its intersection with Catholic social justice teachings. Refreshments will be provided.
