Need in Deed presents “American Teacher” — Wed., November 9th
Mark your calendars now for a special event: the screening of “American Teacher” — a feature length documentary, produced by writer Dave Eggers and Academy Award winning filmmaker Vanessa Roth, that chronicles the passion, humor and challenges of four teachers who live and work in disparate urban and rural areas across the country.
The Philadelphia film premiere will be followed by a conversation with four panelists: Nancy J. McGinley, Superintendant of Charleston County Public Schools and former CEO of the Philadelphia Education Fund; Kira Baker-Doyle, author of The Networked Teacher; and Philadelphia public school teachers Kathleen Wainwright and Michael Farrell. Conversation will be moderated by Research for Action Founder and Senior Research Fellow Emeritus Jolley Bruce Christman.
