Federal Work Study Legislation Focus Group – Feb 8 & 10
Posted by Campus Compact on January 31, 2023
Higher education institutions are required to set aside 7% of FWS appropriations for community service student work opportunities. To increase students’Â participation in community-based service, expand exposure to social impact opportunities, and build connections between colleges and their communities, we are supporting a proposal that would increase the set-aside from 7-24% triggered by overall increases in FWS appropriations.
As we continue to assemble support and feedback for this proposal, we want to hear from university financial representatives who facilitate FWS opportunities. We want to learn about FWS challenges and successes, how an increase in the federal work-study set aside might impact your campus, and more.
We are hosting two focus group options on February 8 and February 10.
