Father’s Center, GPUAC seek fellowship candidate
The Greater Philadelphia Urban Affairs Coalition and its program partner, the National Comprehensive Center for Fathers, are hoping to compete for a special year long junior research fellowship from the Stoneleigh Center, a foundation established to help improve the well-being of children and youth.
Stoneleigh will support several yearlong research fellowships across the city, and GPUAC was invited to submit a proposal for the competition. The research project was developed by NCCF, which is seeking a student to undertake research that will expand the current understanding of unhealthy behaviors in inner city minority youth/young adult males – particularly, the subcultures that arise around guns and violence, drug use, and promiscuity. NCCF is seeking a student with an M.A. and some experience working with and studying African American and/or Hispanic youth.
