FAST Parent Partner Job Description

Families and Schools Together (FAST) is a family after school program that meets one afternoon per week for eight weeks. The Parent Partner serves as the liaison between the parents in the school and the FAST Program. As such, this individual must currently be a care giver of a child at the school. This position is eligible for a stipend provided by TPFC. The Parent Partner must be available for a 2-day training and also available for the full duration of the program each week (2.5 hours). A brief outline of the responsibilities for this position is listed below.

RECRUITMENT
–    Hang flyers/posters, help present FAST at school events
–    Approach/contact families to present FAST

FAMILY PHONE CALLS
–    Remind parents about FAST Night
–    Secure the FAST Meal menu with parent
–    Place phone calls to absentee parents to make sure everything is ok

FAST NIGHT DUTIES
–    Help prepare room for FAST Night
–    Assist with Meal Time (set-up, serving food, clean-up)
–    Co-facilitate Parent Group with Community Based Partner
–    Table Base Coach to help families through the night in timely manner
–    FAST Hello and Sing-a-longs
–    Please be available to clean up and meet shortly after the program weekly

FEEDBACK
–    Connect with parents about any issues or concerns families may have, and then consult with the Team Leader for possible referrals or solutions.

We are looking for parents to participate in our Investing in Family Engagement program as Parent Partners in the following schools:

Adaire, Ethan Allen, Cooke, Cramp, Finletter, Gompers, Hackett, Hartranft, Lamberton, Lingelbach, Mayfair, McKinley, Olney, Sheppard, Stearne, Steel, Taggart, Welsh, Zeigler

• Must be a parent of a student in 1st through 5th grade in the 2013/14 school year.
• The program runs one day per week for 2.5 hours.
• 8 week cycle in the Fall and another 8 week cycle in the Spring.
• Must be available to attend 2 full days of training in July.
• Stipends are given as compensation.
