Fair Food’s Farm to Institution Program (FTI) seeks to connect our region’s farmers with schools, universities, hospitals, and eldercare communities in order to bring more healthy local food to the marketplace and to better support our region’s growers and producers.  FTI seeks a 20-hour per week Program Associate to assist with implementation of our Farm to School initiatives in the Philadelphia area.    The Program Associate will be integral to supporting the ongoing work with public schools across the city and region as they bring fresh, locally grown foods to their students and school communities.

Responsibilities include:
o    Assistance with development and distribution of farm to school educational and promotional tools and resources
o    Assistance with site visits to schools
o    Assistance with surveys, research, reporting, data collection
o    Collaboration and communication with project partners
o    Attendance of project team meetings, school district functions, and learning sessions
o    Keeping current on farm to school movement in region and nation
o    Other office tasks as needed and assigned

Qualifications:
o    Good communication skills including strong writing and oral presentation skills
o    Willingness and ability to learn quickly, build relationships and think creatively
o    Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
o    Punctuality, good organizational and interpersonal skills
o    Flexibility and willingness to travel through the city of Philadelphia for site visits
o    Interest / knowledge of local food systems and sustainable agriculture as they relate to the region
o    Interest / knowledge of farm to institution / cafeteria / school movements and initiatives
