Family Literacy Awards

The National Center for Family Literacy (NCFL) is now accepting applications for two grants to promote family literacy and parent engagement.
The Toyota Family Literacy Teacher of the Year Award will recognize one teacher who has demonstrated exemplary educational practices in family learning and parent engagement. This award is ideal for teachers who are helping families learn in literacy programs, schools or community-based organizations. The award will include a grant of $20,000 and a scholarship to the National Conference on Family Literacy in 2012. The deadline for grant applications is February 1. The NCFL Libraries and Families Award will be given to three U.S.-based library literacy programs that serve families. This award is designed for literacy programs that use innovative approaches to connect with families in their communities. Winners of the award will receive grants of $10,000 and scholarships to the National Conference on Family Literacy in 2012 and 2013. The deadline for grant applications is February 6.
