Family and Youth Services Bureau’s National Youth Summit

Dear Colleague:
Don’t miss the Family and Youth Services Bureau’s (FYSB’s) Second National Youth Summit, scheduled for November 6-8, 2003, in Washington, D.C.! The Summit is the preeminent event of the Positive Youth Development field. This event will provide a forum for service providers, government program managers, researchers, educators, and youth to share experiences, successes, and challenges. The Summit will include a total of 35 workshops in five thematic tracks: “Safe Places,” “Healthy Choices,” “Positive Role Models,” “Skill Acquisition,” and “Civic Engagement.”
Featured speakers at the Second National Youth Summit will include 14-year-old, two-time Nobel Peace Prize Nominee Gregory Smith; and Assistant Secretary for Children and Families Wade F. Horn, Ph.D. FYSB also has invited the Surgeon General of the United States. Members of Congress have been invited to attend and speak with youth at the Youth Town Hall.
