Lutheran Settlement House is a non-profit community based social service organization that serves over 14,000 women, men, and children each year through four program areas: Adult Education and Employment, Domestic Violence, Senior Services and Homeless Services.

Our Mission Statement:

Established in 1902, Lutheran Settlement House (LSH) is a non-profit, community-based organization committed to serving vulnerable children, adults and families living in Philadelphia. Over the past century, the programs and services offered by LSJH have changed in response to the evolving needs of the community. However, the core mission of Lutheran Settlement House-“to empower individuals, families, and communities to achieve and maintain self-sufficiency through an integrated program of social, educational, and advocacy services”-has remained constant.

The Family Advocate will provide trauma-informed, clinical case management to a caseload of approximately 15 female- headed families experiencing homelessness. The Family Advocate will manage a diverse caseload of women and children of all ages, with varying mental health, drug and alcohol, child welfare, and other social service system involvement.

Primary responsibilities include:

Creating an Individualized Service Plan for each family
Holding weekly individual and/or family sessions
Completing Transitional Housing applications
Addressing areas of program noncompliance
Presenting at weekly Client Progress Review meetings
Working collaboratively with residential and other staff to implement appropriate interventions
Coordinating care with other involved professionals

Because Jane Addams Place practices the Sanctuary Model of trauma-informed care, the ideal candidate will be familiar with trauma-informed care and must demonstrate a willingness to provide trauma-informed services. Criminal Background and Child Abuse clearances necessary for position.

BSW or equivalent is required for this position. Two to three years of experience in social services is helpful. Bi-lingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
