The Equal Rights Center ( http://www.equalrightscenter.org/ ) is a nonprofit civil rights organization dedicated to furthering the advancement of fair housing, fair employment, and public accommodations throughout the United States.
ERC has been selected by the Department of Housing and Urban Development to sponsor the 2002 Fair Housing Best Practices award. This initiative is designed to feature the outstanding achievement of selected agencies to promote fair housing education and compliance. Selected agencies will serve as prototypes for new and emerging organizations that provide housing-related services.
Agencies eligible to apply for this award include advertising agencies, fair housing organizations, homeowner insurance providers, mortgage lenders, public housing authorities, real estate agent/broker firms, residential builder/developers, and residential management firms. Those designated as a Fair Housing Best Practice 2002 agency will be invited to participate in a media campaign and will be featured in a Fair Housing manual that will be posted on ERC’s Web site.
