Please see the updated information for this event below. We look forward to seeing you there!
Title: Additional FAFSA Training Workshop
When: Monday, February 7 | 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Representatives from the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Federal Student Aid, will conduct a Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) training session, which will include an overview of Federal Student Aid Programs. The purpose of this training session is to provide counselors and college prep professionals with the tools needed to assist people with filing the online FAFSA application. Participants will receive a hands-on walkthrough of the online FAFSA.
After attending this session, attendees will be able to handle most inquiries regarding filing status (e.g., citizen or non-citizen applicants), and will be able to determine whether a person is a dependent or independent student for FAFSA purposes.
Several “case scenarios” will be used to ensure attendees are able to handle a variety of filing inquiries. Representatives from the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) will provide updates on their new initiatives.
Location: Municipal Services Building, 1401 JFK Blvd., 16th Floor, Room A
